Samurai Pepper by burningflag Samurai Pepper by burningflag
My version of Pepper, from the Pepperproject. I was trying to somehow resemble the feeling of the old Ukiyo-e pictures from japan, while doing it my way.
I already see a million details, which I would like to change, but for now, it has to remain like this. Somehow it´s not very helpfull to overdo a picture, to always find something to fix.

The lines version can be seen here: [link] in my daily sketch blog [link]

I love this drawing and I admire Ukiyo-e along with the works of Hokusai too.

The Japanese look is quite clever, i like it. I find the lines around her knees and stomach to be a bit off putting though; the lineart could be more fluid especially for Pepper and i think her right hand needs more work, the thumb in particular is misplaced. But apart from that, i'm struggling to see any other problems. I do very much like the style.

Hi, thanx 4 the comments. Don´t know ´bout the lines, but the thumb is like that, ´cos I´ve seen it so on one of them old-school paintings of Ukiyo-e :) But yes, it seems weird :)

This is really well done. The simplicity of the colors looks great, and the layout is superb. :)

Hey thanx. Flat colors rock :) I was also thinking about doing a version without the lines, but then the effect of the japanese graphics would be gone.
